Ingredients:

  • 8 tbsp butter, plus 2 extra tbsp
  • 4 diced apples
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 32 ounces of Apple Pie Gelato or Vanilla Gelato for serving

Directions:

Melt 2 tablespoons of butter in a skillet. Add apples and sauté for 5 minutes. Set aside on a plate. In the same skillet over medium heat, add the brown sugar and remaining butter. Stir until the butter melts and the sugar dissolves, then pour in cream. Stir until sauce thickens for about a minute. Reduce heat to low and add the apples back to the skillet. Sprinkle in cinnamon, then let thicken for another 1 to 2 minutes while continuously stirring.

Add scoops of this mixture to a sundae bowl, then scoop vanilla and/or Apple Pie Gelato in and drizzle with caramel sauce. Serve immediately.
